Spanish tourists in Yemen again

Spanish tourists are once again traveling to Yemen after last month's deadly terrorist attack.
The correspondent of the Al-Ayyan daily could meet seven Spanish tourists, a man and six women, and one Swedish in Shibam of Hadhramout, according to the independent daily. The paper said the tourists arrived in Yemen last July 28 and headed to Hdhramout after visits to Sana'a, Amran, Hajja and Thula. The visit of the Spanish tourists came four weeks after eight Spaniards were killed in a terrorist attack in Marib on July 2."We have never received any warnings from Yemeni authorities or our friends in Spain up to now, but we our friends encouraged us to travel to Yemen," the paper quoted one of the tourists, named Michael, as saying. Our families have tried to prevent us travel to Yemen, but we could convince them that this country deserves to be visited and that we will be careful," said Michael. The Spanish team said they have heard about the Marib terror attack as they have been still in Spain, according to the source."We have been embarrassed when we heard about the attack, but our pains and fears disappeared and we are now in Yemen. We came to Yemen..and we are sure the country is safe and the situation is normal. We are optimistic that everything will go well," another female tourist said. The tourist said Yemen is still unknown for many Europeans and information about it is very little. "Yemen is beautiful and wonderful. We are now in Shibam which has wonderful ancient buildings, made of mud," she said. They denied that the attack in Marib might harm the image of Yemen."It is impossible. The aim of such an attack is bad. It aims to show Muslim people as terrorists and this is wrong. Some people may believe this, but who know a lot about Yemen cannot believe that, they will find that Yemenis are kind", they said.According to the source, the Spanish tourists confirmed they would visit Marib "despite the bitter memory."
